These terms are an agreement between you and Babanorth Labs ("we", "us") about your use of the Orant app and this website (together, "Orant"). By using Orant you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Orant.
1. Who can use Orant
You must be at least 18 years old to use Orant. Orant is not directed at children. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
2. Your account
You can use most of Orant without an account. If you create one, give a real email address you control, keep your password private, and let us know if you think someone else has accessed your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time. See Delete your account.
3. Using Orant
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Orant on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You agree not to:
- copy, resell or redistribute Orant's audio, music, artwork, prayers or other content outside the app, except through the app's own share features;
- reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with Orant or its servers, or try to get around limits, ad rewards or security;
- use Orant to break the law or to harm anyone.
The Bible translations in Orant (WEB, KJV and ASV) are in the public domain. All other content, including guided prayers, audio, music, artwork, design and software, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law.
4. Community rules
The community exists so people can pray for one another. When you post a feed post, prayer request or reply, or use a group, you agree to:
- Be kind. Treat others as you'd want to be treated.
- No harassment or hate. No bullying, threats, or attacks on anyone for who they are or what they believe.
- No spam or promotion. No ads, fundraising, links to sell things, or repeated posts.
- Keep personal details out. Don't post contact details, addresses or other private information about yourself or anyone else.
- Report, don't retaliate. If something is wrong, use the report option.
Also, don't post anything illegal, sexually explicit, violent, or that infringes someone else's rights.
Posts are temporary by design. Feed posts are deleted after 1 day and prayer requests after 5 days. There are also posting limits, shown in the app before you post.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. So that Orant can work, you give us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, display, and screen your content, and to show it to the audience you choose, for as long as it remains on Orant. This licence ends when your content is deleted, apart from any backup or safety copies described in our Privacy Policy.
You're responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it.
6. Safety and moderation
To protect people, content is automatically screened before it's published, and anything that suggests someone may be at risk is held privately and reviewed by a person, as explained in our Privacy Policy. We may hide or remove content, and limit or suspend an account's ability to post, if we believe it breaks these terms or puts someone at risk. A posting suspension affects only the community. The rest of the app keeps working. While a suspension lasts, the same email address can't be used to create a new account, even if the suspended account is deleted. If you think we got it wrong, email us.
7. Not professional advice, not a crisis service
Orant offers prayer, Scripture and reflection. It is not a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal or financial advice, or for your own church or pastor. Ask Master answers are generated with the help of artificial intelligence. They're reviewed for tone and accuracy, but they may still contain mistakes and don't represent any church's official teaching. Please read the referenced passages for yourself.
Orant is not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis line. See our Support page.
8. Ads and third-party services
Orant is free and supported by ads from Google AdMob. Some extras can be unlocked by choosing to watch a rewarded ad. Rewards are for your personal use, have no cash value, and may change. Orant also relies on third-party services such as Google Cast and Cloudflare. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we're not responsible for ads or websites run by others.
9. Changes to Orant
We're always improving Orant, and we may add, change or remove features or content, and occasionally the service may be unavailable. Some features, like streaming audio, Ask Master and the community, depend on our servers and an internet connection.
10. Disclaimer
Orant is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that Orant will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your needs. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of Orant. Our total liability to you for any claim about Orant is limited to 100 US dollars or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
12. Ending these terms
You can stop using Orant and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to for legal reasons. Sections 5 (for content still on Orant), 10, 11 and 13 continue to apply after these terms end.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled by the courts of that jurisdiction, unless the consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add new features. We'll change the effective date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Orant after that, the new terms apply.
